Burnout doesn’t always show up loudly. Sometimes it looks like being tired even after sleeping, struggling to concentrate, or losing interest in things you used to enjoy. It can make everything feel heavier—even things that used to be fun, like gaming or hanging out with friends.
You might feel emotionally distant or disconnected from school, family, or daily routines. You might get more headaches, stomach aches, or even feel sick more often than usual. These are all signs that your body and mind are under stress and need care.

What Causes Burnout?
Burnout builds up over time. It’s often caused by constant pressure—school, social stress, online life, family expectations—all piling up without enough rest or support. Even when you love what you're doing, too much without a break can wear you down.
What Helps?
Start with small steps. Talk to someone you trust—a friend, parent, teacher, or older sibling. Just sharing what you’re feeling can be a huge relief.
Next, take a real break. This doesn’t mean scrolling through social media or binge-watching for hours. It means giving your mind and body space to rest. Try stepping away from screens, stretching, going for a walk, or playing a game just for fun—not competition or performance.
Sleep, food, and movement also matter more than we give them credit for. Prioritize rest. Eat something nourishing. Move your body, even if it’s just a quick stretch or a few minutes outside.
And remember—connection helps. Spending time with others through simple activities or games can help you feel less alone, reduce stress, and rebuild energy.
Know When to Reach Out
If things feel like too much or you’re not sure how to cope, don’t wait to ask for help. You’re not alone, and there are people ready to support you. For emergencies, call 911 or reach out to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
Burnout doesn’t mean you’ve failed—it means it’s time to rest, reset, and take care of yourself. Your health matters. So do you.
